What true wealth really means will shock you!
In the busy Tujereng markets, the old baobab tree stood quietly, watching everyday life go by. Under its big branches, I felt peaceful and wise. The wind brought the smell of mbahal, a local food, and the stories of many people.
That day, under the tree, were two very different men, Salim and Karim. I, known for giving good advice, said hello to them calmly.
They said hello back in their own ways. Karim looked ready to learn, with his notebook. Salim looked lost in his thoughts, not really paying attention.
I asked both, “How are you?” Karim politely said he was fine. Salim just shrugged, not really caring.
I noticed how differently they acted towards life’s lessons. I reminded Karim about the importance of sharing what we know. He was thankful. But Salim seemed distant, so I told him life is like a tree: it needs strong roots to stay healthy. He didn’t seem to care much.
Then, I talked about what true wealth means. It’s not just about being busy or making quick choices, but about being wise and thinking carefully. Karim understood and learned. Salim, at first not caring, started to think about his mistakes.
I encouraged them to see past their current problems, talking about staying strong and hopeful. Karim felt better and understood. Salim, still unsure, began to see things a bit clearer.
Before they left, I told them working together and supporting each other is real wealth. Salim seemed a bit more interested, even if unsure.
They left in different directions, like the branches of the baobab. I hoped they would remember and grow from what we talked about.
